Friday infusions
For some reason since I started chemo, my infusions have always been on Fridays. As everyone is looking forward to the weekend, I've always planned on trying to fight off any side effects from chemo on my "weekends". Today I only have one infusion to help strengthen my bones (no chemo yay!!!!!!) I'm thankful to be in a building with air conditioning, have a sweet nurse, and be able to wear my favorite leggings (anyone with a prosthetic leg knows any type of tight pants usually don't fit well, if at all over the bulky components). It's the little victories that are worth celebrating.
People always tell me how positive I am. I attribute it to God helping me fight this battle, and growing up watching my mom always so happy and never complaining about things she may not be able to do physically, but enjoying every little thing she came across. The only thing right now that really bugs me (as I write this) is the beeping of the pump from upstream occlusion- if you have done an infusion or chemo, you should know what I'm taking about! They need to come up with a better system for these things. Something else people always say is "God doesn't give you more than you can handle". I have been reading a book that mentions this is false, which I completely agree with now. He DOES give us more than we can handle, so we can turn to Him for help. We can't fight alone, nor should we try.
After I am healed, I am going to Switzerland. Just giving God a heads up so he can start helping me plan my trip :)
